How to Design Programs. I've been reading this in between compiles hoping to learn something about Scheme.

Apparently somebody's implementing the OTA specs. Somehow the OTA effort's always left me cold. Maybe it's because it seems directed towards vendor integration and GDS bypass; the former because I've always worked on the consumer side and the latter is certainly a bad thing for my paycheck. Setting that aside, I think that from a technical perspective, the OTA specs seem to be designed by committe in the worst way. So vendors are excited about cutting out intermediaries, and consumer facing entities who've been cut out of the revenue model are trying to find ways back in. Am I totally off base here, or is everyone concentrating on subtracting value and cutting costs, instead of adding value and making money?
