Gene Amole's farewell. Gene was a columnist for the Denver Rocky Mountain News. When he learned he was dying, he decided to document it in print. I hadn't been following his columns, so I stopped what I was doing and read the last few he wrote. It always humbles me to read about a person who's managed to get through the better part of a century. I'm sort of a history buff and these people are living history. Another part of our history just died.
