Link Pairs
Frequently, I'll see two related items show up a couple of days apart from totally unrelated sources. For example, on Sunday Peter Provost said "I am one of those people who prefers short single-minded classes with short single-minded methods. The ultimate, yet unachievable goal is to have one line methods.", while today Chris Petrilli says "One of the things I picked up in Smalltalk is that a method should be tiny. In Smalltalk, many people would frown on a method that is more than 10-12 lines. ". Chris is upfront about the Smalltalk influence, and I'd speculate that Peter is steeped in principles that were developed in the Smalltalk community (Agile, XP, Refactoring) and this all has roots in the same place, but the coincidence in timing is interesting. There's been a bunch of times I've seen this and wanted to tie the 2 (or more) items together. I suppose I could use del.icio.us along with some tagging strategy to achieve the same thing; that's actually effectively what I want. Except that in this case I don't care so much about the tags, I just want something to tie the links together, a tag, a label, a number, it doesn't really matter.
