Secured Feeds in OPML
James Robertson has a small rant on one area of OPML that's underspecfied, namely, feeds that require credentials. I agree with James' overall point that the use of OPML for subscription lists is basically specified through examining patterns of common usage, but in this case, James is incorrect. A while back, Greg covered the usage pattern that James decries, the point being that embedding the credentials in the URI is valid URI syntax. I don't know what flickr is doing in the example James gives, but I'd say the URI stays as is; I'd guess that either the tool that produced the feed mangled the URI, or the user input it incorrectly.
