Simple Sharing Extensions

I was reading over the Simple Sharing announcement and the spec. Though the person who brought this to my attention was suggesting that this spec represented a way to synchronize read states, it doesn't seem that way at all: it seems like a way for peers to synchronize content, more like the Six Apart ping replacement than synchronizing aggregator state. I wish they showed an example of synchronizing OPML subscription lists. I can see the utility of the deleted attribute, but I'm not sure how useful the rest is. The conflict resolution seems a bit much logic to potential consumers to deal with; implementing SSE requires a fair amount of logic on each end, I think. There's not really a use case envisioned for a dumb client. Overall, the use case seems to be oriented towards big server apps: Exchange, Notes, things like that, but not really towards client side applications.
