They Work Hard For the Money

This post attracted a comment that looked awfully fishy, but I left it up because it was in fact relevant.  I'll still leave it up, even after finding this referrer... and this and this.  This looks suspiciously like someone checking on how their work is going.  Milan Negovan got a comment pleading for help with javascript - not really on topic, but half-relevant.  This post on jadetower got a comment complaining about the 2 and 3 letter variable names in the code samples - a really dubious criticism, given the content of the page, but still relevant.  I randomly checked several of the other pages listed in the link results from MSN.  There is a common thread here.  There's always an at least halfway-relevant comment, and out of the ten pages I checked, all but one was a weblog using some sort of "are you a real human?" verification measure - CAPTCHA, or a passphrase such as "enter the current year".  You'd believe that all these comments are in earnest, until you look at the breadth of the reading list.  This commenter is incredibly diverse and prolific.
