Round Two

It's snowing again in Denver, at this point there's about 4-6 inches on the ground.  The City of Denver did a terrible job with snow removal last week.  The City snowplows didn't even begin plowing major streets until the storm was well underway - by the time the plows hit the street,  they were impossibly behind in their plowing.  The City rarely plows side streets, and by the time they realized that side streets were impassible, it was far too late - the plows didn't even hit our street until 2 days after the snow stopped - at that point there was 6 inches of compacted snow on the street and the plows were completely ineffective.  On the other hand, I've read reports that the residents of other areas were asking the city to stop plowing, because they were plowing streets that had already been cleared.

It appears that Mayor Hickenlooper is taking the criticism to heart, and probably won't share the fate of Bill Mc Nichols.  One can only hope.  Chances are that we'll have another storm like this one before his term is over, we seem to get one of these every three or four years.
