Baseball in October?
Unbelievable. The Rockies after giving up a 2 run home run in the top of the 13th, win the last NL wildcard spot on a close play at the plate, called safe very late by the umpire. The scoring runner was Matt Holliday, the outfielder who misfielded a fly ball that allowed the Padres to tie the game up in the 8th. The Rockies fought unbelievably hard down the stretch, and it seemed like the last two games they were just clawing out victories. This is the way the season should end - in overtime on a close play at the plate. Nicely done.
