The Day the Blogging Died · 5 March, 01:53 PM

Have to say I was sorry to see this. I’ve been reading Dare’s blog for something like 5 years, and he’s in my “High Priority” folder in Google Reader – the folder that I read if I don’t have time to go through all my subscriptions. There aren’t many feeds in that folder. I’ve always envied Dare’s ability to compose real posts – not just linkdumps or regurgitations of others’ thoughts.

Some seem to think that Dare’s employer was the cause of the hiatus, but I doubt very much that someone of Dare’s talent would need to kowtow to any corporate line. You have to remember that he’s also the son of an important politician. It seems to me that Dare’s earlier indications were to the effect that that relationship was more problematic as a blogger.

Dare will go on with his life, but I’ll certainly miss his writing.
